| Obverse description | The obverse features a fine uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, executed in high relief by engraver Glyn Davies in a contemporary and naturalistic style. The portrait presents the King with short hair and a draped collar, rendered with considerable sculptural depth against a deeply mirrored proof field. The circular legend reads CHARLES III · BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY, arcing around the upper periphery, with the date 2024 positioned centrally at the base between two raised dots. |

The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace has functioned as a working stable and carriage house since the 1820s, when John Nash rebuilt the site under George IV. It remains operational — the horses and vehicles used in state ceremonial occasions, including coronations and the State Opening of Parliament, are maintained there year-round. Guernsey has issued high-denomination silver kilo-class pieces of this type with some regularity since the 2010s, typically timed to royal ceremonial occasions.
