Guernsey's fiscal autonomy from the United Kingdom means it issues its own currency through the States Treasury rather than through a central bank — making the States Treasurer's signature the sole authorizing mark, with no governor or monetary authority co-signing as you'd find on most sterling-area notes. Brown served as Treasurer through much of the 1990s, and his signature appears across several denominations in this run.

De La Rue's London production for this series was unremarkable in method, though Guernsey notes of this period are modestly scarce in high grade due to the island's small population and limited print runs.
