The centre is dominated by a large diamond-shaped vignette in green, within which the denomination '10' and the issuer name 'Stadtsparkasse' appear in bold blackletter (Fraktur) script above the city name 'Bielefeld'. The surrounding field carries a dense microtext underprint listing wartime food prices from Paris 1870 and Bielefeld 1917, framed by a green guilloche border with repeating geometric ornaments.
