| Obverse description | Octagonal iron notgeld token with a plain raised border of small beads running along the entire periphery. A concentric inner ring of beads frames the central field, within which the large numeral '10' is prominently raised in bold relief. The circular legend around the inner bead ring reads 'WARENHAUS A. DREYFUS' in the upper arc and 'MÜLHAUSEN i/ELS.' in the lower arc, with small six-pointed star separators at the lateral junctions. The overall design is utilitarian and typographic, devoid of pictorial imagery, consistent with wartime Kleingeldersatzmarken production. |

Warenhaus A. Dreyfus was a department store in Mülhausen — Mulhouse in French — operating in Alsace during the German annexation period. Like hundreds of German businesses in 1917, it issued iron notgeld tokens as the Imperial government requisitioned copper and zinc for war production, leaving ordinary commercial change in short supply. The Dreyfus name in a German-administered Alsatian city by that point in the war carried its own quiet tension, given the region's contested identity and the still-living memory of the Dreyfus Affair.
