Obverse description Plain zinc field at centre bearing the large raised numeral '10' in bold relief, denoting the denomination. The numeral is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by a circular legend reading 'FONTAINE & Co. G.M.B.H. FRANKFURT A/M.-WEST' in raised Latin capitals along the periphery. A small five-pointed star serves as a separator in the lower portion of the legend. The rim is defined by a further outer beaded border, typical of the utilitarian Notgeld token style of the First World War period.

Reverse description Plain, unadorned zinc field bearing the large raised numeral '10' in bold relief at centre, with minimal artistic embellishment, consistent with the emergency coinage (Notgeld) production standards of 1917. A faint beaded border is visible along the rim. The reverse design is deliberately simple, reflecting the exigencies of wartime token manufacture.
