| Obverse description | A fox passant to the right occupies the central field, rendered in relief with naturalistic detail atop a ground line. The circular legend reads 'F.W. FUCHS' along the upper arc and 'BRAUNLAGE I/H.' along the lower arc, separated by small star ornaments. The entire design is framed by a beaded border running along the inner rim. The fox motif serves as a visual pun on the issuer's surname (Fuchs meaning 'fox' in German), a common device in German notgeld coinage of the early 1920s. |
