Obverse description Full-length figure of Saint Ludger, patron saint of Werden, depicted in episcopal vestments with mitre and crozier held in his left hand, and a model of a church building in his right, standing above the Werden municipal coat of arms featuring a stylized eagle. Small stars are scattered throughout the inner field surrounding the saint. The city name legend 'STADT WERDEN' runs along the outer border, flanking the figure left and right, all within a beaded inner circle and a plain outer rim.

Reverse description The large bold numeral '10' dominates the central field, with the word 'KRIEGSGELD' (war money) arching above along the upper periphery and 'PFENNIG' curving below, all separated by six-pointed star ornaments at either side. The design is contained within a beaded inner circle and a plain outer rim, giving a clean, utilitarian appearance typical of German Notgeld emergency coinage of the First World War era.
