Triumph-Werke Nürnberg — not to be confused with the British Triumph motorcycle company — was a major manufacturer of bicycles, motorcycles, and typewriters whose Nürnberg operations issued notgeld tokens during the early Weimar period when small-denomination coinage virtually disappeared from circulation. Factory-issued zinc pieces like this one functioned as internal currency, redeemable at company canteens and stores, effectively tying workers' purchasing power to the employer.
