Mars-Werke A.G. was a Nürnberg manufacturer of bicycles and later military equipment whose factory token issues circulated as small-denomination scrip among workers during the notgeld period following World War I. The zinc composition is characteristic of emergency issues produced when copper and nickel remained strategically restricted well into the early 1920s.
