| Reverse description | Octagonal reverse featuring a bold raised depiction of the Meuselbacher Kuppe, a prominent wooded hill rising in the center of the field with richly textured foliage rendered in relief. Atop the summit stands a small observation tower or pavilion with a domed roof. The curved legend 'MEUSELBACHER KUPPE' arcs along the upper periphery within the dotted border, identifying the local landmark. The composition is a typical regional Notgeld motif celebrating the natural landscape of the issuing municipality. |

| Additional information |
Meuselbach was a small spa and glass-manufacturing village in the Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt principality, which had ceased to exist as a sovereign state just months before this piece was struck — the ruling house of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt extinguished itself when the last prince abdicated in November 1918. The municipality issued this zinc notgeld not out of civic pride but out of necessity: the new Weimar government had not yet stabilized the small-denomination coinage supply, and local commerce ground to a halt without it.
Zinc was the material of last resort by 1919, chosen because copper and nickel remained scarce after four years of wartime metal requisitioning.
