| Obverse description | A beaded inner circle frames the crowned municipal coat of arms of Mettmann, depicting two city towers or church steeples surmounted by a heraldic crown, rendered in moderate relief against a plain field. An outer legend, separated from the inner circle by a continuous pearl border, reads the issuer name and city of origin. A plain rim with a fine pearl border runs along the coin's edge, giving the design a neat, uniform frame typical of German Notgeld emergency coinage of the World War I era. |
