Reverse description The reverse displays the company monogram device at center: a large equilateral triangle in double-line relief, its base resting on a horizontal bar, with the initial letter 'S' enclosed within a small circle positioned at the center of the triangle. The entire device is set within a plain field bordered by a continuous beaded ring following the octagonal periphery of the token. Additional information

Stotz & Cie. was a Mannheim-based electrical supply house, one of the major regional distributors of electrical fittings and installation hardware in the German southwest during the early twentieth century. Factory and company scrip of this kind was issued during the acute small-change shortage that gripped Germany in the First World War and its immediate aftermath, when zinc was pressed into token coinage precisely because copper and nickel had been consumed by the war effort.

The Menzel reference numbers indicate this piece is catalogued in both the 2005 and 2018 editions, suggesting it has been consistently documented without significant revision to its classification.
