Obverse description Within a beaded border, the Arms of Mainz occupy the central field: two wheel-symbols of Mainz (each a spoked wheel within a circle) arranged vertically and joined by a short cross-bar, forming the traditional double-wheel coat of arms of the city. The legend STADT MAINZ is inscribed along the left and right periphery, flanking the arms. The overall design reflects the heraldic Notgeld style characteristic of World War I German municipal emergency coinage.
Obverse script Latin

Reverse description Within a beaded border, the large numeral '10' dominates the central field in bold raised relief, serving as the primary denomination indicator. The date '1918' is inscribed vertically along the left inner border, reading upward alongside the numeral. The composition is stark and utilitarian, consistent with wartime Notgeld emergency coinage design.
