| Obverse description | Octagonal zinc token with a beaded border running along the full periphery. The large numeral '10' occupies the central field in bold raised relief. The circular legend reads 'FRIED. KRUPP A.G. MAGDEBURG' across the upper arc and 'BUCKAU GRUSONWERK' across the lower arc, with a small five-pointed star positioned at each lateral side between the legend segments. The plain field and straightforward typographic design are characteristic of German industrial notgeld emergency coinage of the World War I era. |

Grusonwerk began as an independent ironworks founded by Hermann Gruson in 1855, renowned for hardened cast-iron armor plating used in coastal fortifications across Europe. Krupp absorbed the firm in 1893, folding it into their industrial empire while retaining the Magdeburg-Buckau site for heavy machinery and munitions work. This zinc notgeld token was almost certainly issued during the acute coin shortages of 1917–1921, when German employers routinely issued factory scrip to pay workers when Reichsbank coinage had effectively vanished from circulation.
