Obverse description The municipal coat of arms of Lüdenscheid occupies the central field, depicting a crenellated mural crown surmounting a quartered heraldic shield bearing a figure of a miner or smith at the centre. The legend STADT LÜDENSCHEID curves along the left and lower periphery of the coin in raised Latin lettering, flanking the shield on either side.

Reverse description The large numeral '10' dominates the central field as the denomination. A circular legend reading NOTGELD 1919 arcs along the upper periphery, with the word PFENNIG inscribed along the lower periphery, the two separated by a six-pointed star ornament on each side, forming a complete encircling legend around the denomination.
