| Reverse description | Bicolour reverse in black and tan, with a bold central portrait vignette of Martin Luther rendered in fine engraved line work after an early portrait style, signed 'Spitzmann' in the upper left corner of the inner frame; the identification 'D. M. Luther' and the date '1515–9' appear beside the portrait. The denomination '10 Pf' is repeated in the four corners against the tan hatched border panels. Two horizontal text bands in Gothic script frame the portrait above and below, and two vertical bands flank it on either side, together forming a complete devotional verse. |
