Additional information

Füssen's rope and cordage factory issued this zinc notgeld token during the material shortages that followed World War I, when the collapse of German small-change circulation forced hundreds of private firms to produce their own emergency currency. Factory-issued scrip of this type was redeemable only at the issuing company, functioning in practice as a wage token tightly bound to a single employer's store or canteen.
