Obverse lettering 1917 ✿ STADT ERSTEIN ✿
Reverse description The reverse displays the large numeral 10 prominently in the center of the field, enclosed within an inner beaded or rope-pattern circular border. The legend KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE (small change substitute token) curves along the upper periphery between the inner circle and the outer beaded border. Three small six-pointed stars serve as decorative stops in the lower portion of the field, positioned below the inner circle. The overall design is plain and functional, consistent with wartime emergency coinage practice.
