Obverse description The obverse features a raised pearl border encircling the entire coin, with the circular legend 'KRIEGSNOTGELD DER STADT ★ CROSSEN (ODER) ★' running between the outer pearl rim and an inner beaded circle. Within the beaded circle, the coat of arms of Crossen is depicted in relief, showing a fortified town gate with two flanking towers surmounted by battlements and a central shield bearing heraldic charges. The design is struck in low relief on a plain field, characteristic of wartime emergency Notgeld coinage.
