| Obverse description | Red and black letterpress design on cream paper, with a fine horizontal-line guilloche underprint filling the central field. A large dark eagle vignette is printed at centre, overlaid by the bold red numerals '10' and the denomination 'Pfennig' in Gothic blackletter type. The heading 'Notgeld der Stadt Arnstadt' arcs across the top in Gothic script, flanked by decorative scroll ornaments; the year '1921' appears at the foot. A validity notice 'Gültig bis 1 Monat nach Aufruf' is set to the left, and a facsimile magistrate signature with the legend 'der Magistrat' appears to the lower right, below a series letter. The designer's name 'A PAUL WEBER' is inscribed in the bottom margin below the frame. |
