Obverse description A pearl border runs along the entire octagonal periphery. At center, a standing armored figure — likely a medieval knight or civic guardian — is depicted in full length, facing forward, holding what appears to be a sword or staff. The date 1917 is split to either side of the figure, with '19' to the left and '17' to the right. The curved legend 'MAGISTRAT DER STADT BELGERN' arcs around the upper portion of the field, identifying the issuing municipal authority.

Reverse description A continuous pearl border frames the octagonal reverse. Within this border, the circular legend 'KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE' (small change substitute token) runs around the upper and lateral field, separated from a central rope or beaded inner circle. The large numeral '10' dominates the central field within the inner beaded circle, indicating the denomination. Three small six-pointed stars are evenly spaced along the lower portion of the field between the pearl border and the inner circle.
