Obverse description A panoramic vignette of the Bad Liebenstein townscape occupies the central field, rendered in green and black letterpress with wooded hills rising behind the town buildings and a church spire visible among the rooftops. The issuer title 'Notgeld der Gemeinde Bad Liebenstein' is inscribed on a decorative scroll banner at the top, flanked by ornamental cartouches bearing the spa town mottos 'BESS'RE HERZ UND NERVEN' at left and 'GEH NACH LIEBENSTEIN' at right. The denomination '10 Pf' appears in red numerals within ornate frames at lower left and right, with the validity clause and serial number printed along the bottom margin above the printer's imprint.

Reverse description The reverse is divided into three vignette panels beneath a red header band bearing '10 Bad Liebenstein 10' in bold black type; the dominant central panel presents a fine landscape view of the ruined Burg Liebenstein castle labelled 'die alte Burg', while the left panel shows the Fröbel monument ('Das Fröbel-Denkmal') and the right panel the Luther monument near Altenstein ('Lutherdenkmal b/Altenstein'). Two heraldic eagle shields flank a four-line verse inscription at the bottom — 'Burg Liebenstein, einst Ritterlehn, / Vergänglich ist auf Erden alles — / Du sahst Geschlechter kommen, gehn, / Den Wohlstand blühn u. nun den Dalles' — with the dates '1914' and '1921' flanking the shields.
