| Obverse description | Central vignette presents the historic civic arms of the ur-alte Stadt Blauve (dated 1668), rendered in a richly coloured heraldic composition with a golden lion on a black shield, elaborate acanthus mantling in gold and white, and a winged angel as crest. The arms are flanked by two period military figures in arched lateral panels: an armoured knight at left and a halberdier at right. The denomination '10 Pfennige' appears in red in each of the four corner cartouches against a guilloche underprint, and the designer's credit 'gez. M. Bechstein Ilmenau' is inscribed in small text at lower right of the central vignette. |
