Obverse description Central vignette presents the historic civic arms of the ur-alte Stadt Blauve (dated 1668), rendered in a richly coloured heraldic composition with a golden lion on a black shield, elaborate acanthus mantling in gold and white, and a winged angel as crest. The arms are flanked by two period military figures in arched lateral panels: an armoured knight at left and a halberdier at right. The denomination '10 Pfennige' appears in red in each of the four corner cartouches against a guilloche underprint, and the designer's credit 'gez. M. Bechstein Ilmenau' is inscribed in small text at lower right of the central vignette.

Reverse description Central arched vignette presents a detailed polychrome view of the Plaue town hall (Rathaus), a multi-storey building with a prominent clock tower, set within a cobblestoned square and framed by trees. To the left, a lateral panel contains a vignette of a farmer harvesting grain with a scythe; to the right, a corresponding panel shows a brewer at work beside a wooden barrel. Denomination numerals '10 Pfennige' appear in red in the lower left and right cartouches, and an ornamental text panel with decorative corner medallions runs along the bottom of the note.
