| Obverse description | The Mexican national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a Mexican golden eagle perched upon a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, devouring a serpent clutched in its beak and talons. The eagle is shown in left profile with wings partially spread, rendered in fine detail with individually delineated feathers against a deeply mirrored proof field. An oak branch appears to the left and a laurel branch to the right, joined at the base by a ribbon. The encircling legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin characters. |
