Obverse description The obverse displays two heraldic shields side by side within a rope-bordered field. To the left, the Cuban national coat of arms features the traditional escutcheon with a golden key between two promontories, a royal palm, and a rising sun, encircled by an oak and laurel wreath surmounted by a Phrygian cap. To the right, the arms of the city of Santiago de Cuba depict a crowned oval shield bearing the Virgin Mary above and an equestrian figure below, flanked by a lance and a bundle of arrows. The denomination '10 PESOS' appears in the lower left field, while the legend 'REPUBLICA DE CUBA' arcs along the upper right periphery, accompanied by the fineness designation '1 OZ AG 0.999' in the upper field.
