Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield divided into three sections: the upper portion features a golden key between two landmasses and open sea, the lower-left section bears the Cuban national flag in diagonal stripes, and the lower-right section displays a royal palm tree against a rising sun landscape. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap atop a fasces, and flanked on either side by leafy branches — an oak branch to the left and an olive branch to the right — crossed at the base. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, while the denomination 10 PESOS is inscribed along the lower border, with the weight specification 15 G and the fineness mark AG 0.999 appearing in the lower field to left and right respectively.

Reverse description A detailed depiction of the Spanish frigate San Pedro de Alcántara under full sail occupies the central and lower field, rendered in fine relief with multiple billowing sails, rigging, flags at the mastheads, and a richly detailed hull showing gun ports along its broadside, sailing over stylized ocean waves. The ship's name SAN PEDRO DE ALCÁNTARA arcs along the upper portion of the field in period-style serif lettering. The mint year 2000 appears to the lower right of the vessel, while the dates 1787-1815, denoting the vessel's active service period, are inscribed along the lower border.
