Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield divided into three sections bearing a key between two promontories, a rising sun, and blue and white diagonal stripes, surmounted by the Phrygian cap on a pole and flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin lettering. The denomination 10 PESOS is inscribed along the lower rim, with the weight specification 20G to the lower left and the fineness AG 0.999 to the lower right of the shield.

Reverse description The reverse features a detailed reproduction of a historic cartographic map inspired by Ptolemy's world view, with directional labels SEPTENTRIO (North), ORIENS (East), and AUSTER (South) inscribed within and around the map's borders, along with geographical notations including MARE OCEANUM, MANGI, AFRICA, TROPICUS CANCER, and CIPANGO. To the upper left, a robed figure of Ptolemy is depicted at a telescope or astronomical instrument beside a celestial globe. To the lower right, a portrait bust of Paolo dal Pozzo Toscanelli is shown in profile, rendered in fine relief. The legend PTOLOMEO and the motto LA TIERRA ES REDONDA (The Earth is Round) are inscribed at the top of the field, while the inscription CAMINO DIRECTO A ORIENTE CRUZANDO EL ATLANTICO and the date 1992 appear in the lower field, above the name TOSCANELLI along the bottom rim.
