The Oaxacan provisional coinage of 1915 emerged from the state's brief period of political autonomy under Governor José Inés Dávila, who declared Oaxaca a sovereign entity separate from Carranza's Constitutionalist government in 1915. The broader Mexican Revolution had so thoroughly disrupted the national monetary system that regional authorities across the country were minting their own emergency issues — Oaxaca's gold series being among the most formally executed of these provincial efforts.
KM#A752 is notably scarce in any grade. Oaxaca's separation from the central government lasted only until 1920, and production quantities were limited by both time and the logistical constraints of a state operating outside federal supply chains.
