Obverse description The obverse features the Cuban national coat of arms at center, depicting a shield divided into three sections: the upper portion showing a golden key between two rocky promontories and a rising sun, the lower left section with blue and white diagonal stripes representing the Cuban flag, and the lower right section bearing a royal palm tree against a mountainous landscape. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap above rays of light, and flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, tied together at the base. The curved legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 10 PESOS appears along the lower rim. The fineness and weight designations 1 OZ and AG 0.999 are inscribed vertically on the left and right fields respectively, identifying this as a one-troy-ounce fine silver issue.
