Reverse description Centre field features the stylised frontal effigy of Coyolxauhqui, the Aztec lunar goddess, rendered in pre-Columbian sculptural style with an elaborate headdress adorned with circular ornaments and flanking ear decorations. The date 1980 appears above the effigy, and the denomination legend DIEZ PESOS arcs in two lines below and to the sides of the portrait. The mint mark (Mo) of the Casa de Moneda de Mexico is present in the lower central field. A decorative serrated or dentilated border frames the entire design.
