Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield divided into three sections: the upper portion features a golden key between two promontories over blue waters symbolizing the Straits of Florida, the lower-left quarter displays a sun rising over mountains, and the lower-right quarter shows a royal palm tree. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap bearing a lone star, flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, bound together at the base. The legend 'REPUBLICA DE CUBA' arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination '10 PESOS' is inscribed in the lower field.
