Reverse description A central colorized medallion depicts Mary Read, the legendary female pirate, in a dynamic full-body confrontation scene set on a ship's deck. She is shown brandishing a cutlass against a male pirate opponent, dressed in period-appropriate buccaneering attire of striped trousers and a blue jacket, with a treasure chest and gold coins scattered in the foreground and a tall-masted sailing vessel visible in the background. The legend PIRATAS DEL CARIBE arcs boldly along the upper border of the polished silver rim, with the name MARY READ inscribed within the colorized field itself. Two five-pointed stars flank the lower portion of the rim, and the issue date 1995 is prominently engraved along the lower periphery.
