Obverse description The obverse features the national coat of arms of the Dominican Republic centered in the field, depicting a quartered shield with a Bible and cross, flanked by laurel and palm branches, and surmounted by a ribbon bearing the motto DIOS PATRIA LIBERTAD. A scroll at the base of the arms bears the legend REPUBLICA DOMINICANA.
