Reverse description Three overlapping busts of Cuban independence leaders are portrayed in right-facing profile at the centre of the field, depicting José Martí (foreground), Máximo Gómez (centre, with spectacles), and Antonio Maceo (background), all rendered with fine detail including period dress and characteristic facial hair. To the left of the busts stands a vertical machete flanked by three five-pointed stars, symbolising the armed struggle for independence. The word CENTENARIO is boldly inscribed in the lower-centre field, below which the commemorative dates 1895 · 1995 appear, with a small mint mark visible beneath. The curved legend GUERRA NECESARIA · 24 DE FEBRERO arcs along the upper periphery, referencing the date of the uprising's proclamation.
