Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield divided into three sections: the upper portion bears a rising sun over a key between two promontories, the lower left section shows horizontal blue and white stripes representing the sea, and the lower right section displays a royal palm. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap on a pike and flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, both bound at the base. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination 10 PESOS appears along the lower rim. The fineness specification AG 0.999 and weight 20 G are inscribed on either side of the wreath in the lower field.
