| Obverse description | The obverse presents the Mexican national coat of arms occupying the majority of the mirror-polished field, depicting a golden eagle with wings spread, perched upon a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, devouring a serpent grasped in its beak and talons. The cactus is flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, tied at the base with a ribbon. The national legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin characters against the deeply frosted background, executed to a high proof standard. |
