Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield divided into three sections bearing a golden key between two promontories, a rising sun, and a royal palm tree, surmounted by the Phrygian cap atop a fasces and flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, both tied at the base. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery, with the fineness mark AG 0.999 and weight 25 G inscribed below it on either side of the cap. The denomination 10 PESOS appears across the upper central field. Encircling the lower portion of the design, rendered in flowing script, is the José Martí quotation Por el universo todo debiera ser una la moneda, concluding with the facsimile signature José Martí at the base. A beaded border frames the entire design.
