Obverse description The obverse is an overprint issue on an earlier Banco de Bogotá 10 Pesos note, retaining the original intaglio-printed design. A vignette at the left centre depicts a tall waterfall amid dense tropical foliage, while an oval portrait vignette at the upper right shows a male figure in early 19th-century attire. The large numeral '10' appears in the centre within a guilloche rosette, flanked by the denomination text 'DIEZ' and 'PESOS', with the principal legend 'EL BANCO DE BOGOTÁ' in bold letterpress and the promise text 'Pagará al portador á la vista Diez Pesos' below.

Reverse description The reverse, printed in brown ink, bears a bold overprint stamp identifying the note as provisional Banco Nacional circulation currency under government decree, with the date 1899. The central design retains the guilloche-framed numeral '10' flanked by 'DIEZ' and 'PESOS', enclosed within an ornate rectangular border of interlocking guilloche patterns. A manuscript signature line for the Junta de Emisión members appears across the centre, with the printed legend 'MIEMBROS DE LA JUNTA DE EMISIÓN' and an overprint text block at the upper portion.
