Comments

The 1935 Banco de España 10 Pesetas note was originally produced by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. in England, but the outbreak of the Civil War in July 1936 split the legitimate government's monetary apparatus from the Nationalist-controlled territories. The Republican government subsequently arranged for the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre in Madrid to reproduce the design locally — these domestic reprints are the "replica" issues catalogued under P#86.

Distinguishing originals from Madrid-printed examples requires close examination of intaglio depth and registration consistency, areas where Bradbury, Wilkinson's output was measurably superior.
