Obverse description Green intaglio print on a multicolour guilloche underprint. At centre-left, an oval vignette contains a crowned Madonna and Child (Patrona Hungariae) set against a radiant sunburst background; to the right, a portrait vignette of a young Hungarian woman in traditional dress with a vine-and-grape garland. The denomination '10 PENGŐ' appears in large numerals and letterpress text at upper centre, flanked by ornate scrollwork borders, with the issuing authority 'MAGYAR NEMZETI BANK', date 'BUDAPEST, 1936. ÉVI DECEMBER HÓ 22-ÉN', and two facsimile signature lines below; the serial number prefix is preceded by an asterisk (*), denoting the Veszprém emergency overprint series.

The central vignette presents an equestrian statue of King Saint Stephen I of Hungary, robed and holding a sceptre, set within a dark arched frame surrounded by elaborate foliate ornament. To the left, an oval cartouche contains the Hungarian coat of arms, and to the right a large numeral '10' is set within a decorative guilloche medallion; the denomination is repeated in six languages in a banner along the lower margin.
