Guernsey's colourised wildlife decimal issues have no particular historical weight behind them — they are frankly modern collector products, struck for the cabinet rather than the pocket. The meadow grasshopper (Chorthippus parallelus) does at least have genuine local presence on the island, where the absence of common mainland predators has allowed invertebrate populations to remain relatively undisturbed.
