| Reverse description | A finely engraved depiction of the Common Blue butterfly (Polyommatus icarus) occupies the central field, rendered with naturalistic detail showing wing venation and body texture, with wings displayed in a spread position. The denomination TEN PENCE arcs along the upper legend, while the species name COMMON BLUE curves along the lower legend, both in raised Latin lettering. The design was engraved by Mike Langman and forms part of a series celebrating the flora and fauna of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. |

| Additional information |
Part of Guernsey's 2021–2022 wildlife series celebrating native and migratory species found across the Bailiwick, the Common Blue butterfly (Polyommatus icarus) remains one of the few butterfly species still reliably encountered on the island's coastal grasslands. Guernsey issues its own coinage independently of the UK under a Crown dependency arrangement, though the pieces circulate locally alongside British coinage at parity.
