Obverse description The fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is depicted facing right, wearing the George IV State Diadem with a draped neckline, as designed by Jody Clark. The effigy is struck in fine relief against a flat, unadorned field, with the engraver's initials 'J.C.' incuse below the truncation. The peripheral legend arcs around the upper and lower rim, incorporating the sovereign's name, titles, and regnal designation. The denomination 'TEN PENCE' and the date of issue appear as part of the circumferential inscription.
