Obverse description Third portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, crowned and draped, as sculpted by Raphael David Maklouf. The Queen wears the George IV State Diadem and drop earrings, her hair styled in loose curls. The legend ISLE OF MAN arcs along the left periphery and ELIZABETH II descends along the right, both in raised Latin characters. The date 1987 appears in the lower field below the portrait, flanked by small decorative stars.

Obverse lettering ISLE OF MAN ELIZABETH II 1987
Reverse description Central design featuring a leaping Manx Loaghtan ram depicted within a shield-shaped cartouche, rendered in high relief against a plain field. The cartouche is framed by an ornate border of foliate and scrollwork decoration encircling the entire design. The denomination numeral 10 appears at the base of the shield interior, with the word PENCE positioned below the shield in the lower field. The overall composition is the work of engraver Leslie Lindsay.
