Additional information

The Isle of Man gained full control over its own coinage in 1973 under the Coinage Act, allowing the Manx government to issue coins independently of the Royal Mint's standard UK designs. The 10 pence pieces produced in this window were struck at the Pobjoy Mint in Surrey, which held the contract for Manx coinage throughout much of this period and was known for producing collector-oriented variants alongside circulation strikes — accounting for the two Schön varieties catalogued here.
