| Obverse description | Arnold Machin's second definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is depicted in right-facing truncated bust, wearing a girlande tiara and with her hair dressed in soft curls. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field, with the Pobjoy Mint initials 'PM' incuse below the bust truncation. | Reverse description | A peregrine falcon, the traditional symbol of the Isle of Man, is depicted perched in three-quarter left-facing stance at the centre of the field, its plumage rendered with fine detail against a deeply mirrored proof surface. Flanking the bird on both sides is an elaborate interlaced Celtic knotwork design of sinuous scrolling tendrils and looped ornamental chains, echoing the island's Norse-Celtic heritage. The denomination numeral '10' appears to the right within the knotwork design. A small privy mark in the form of a baby's cradle appears at the top of the field, identifying issues struck to commemorate a royal birth. |
