| Additional information |
Guernsey has operated as a Crown Dependency outside the UK's legal and fiscal framework since 1204, giving its government latitude to issue commemorative coinage on essentially any theme it chooses — an arrangement that has produced an increasingly commercial output from the island's issuing authority. This "Twelve Days of Christmas" series is one of several themed sets released in recent years targeting collector retail rather than circulation.
KM#497 is nickel plated steel struck for the first year of Charles III's coinage on Guernsey.
