| Additional information |
Jersey's decimal coinage has been issued independently since 1971, when the island adopted its own pound at par with sterling rather than joining the UK's decimal rollout as a dependency. This 2024 issue updates the obverse effigy following Charles III's accession, a routine but administratively distinct process for Jersey — the Bailiwick commissions its own royal portraits independently of the Royal Mint, meaning Jersey's Charles III coinage carries a different effigy treatment than contemporary UK issues.
