Guernsey's wildlife-themed 10p series, of which this Dartford Warbler piece forms a part, continues a collecting format the Bailiwick has leaned on heavily since the 2018 Royal Mint UK equivalent generated strong secondary market demand. The Dartford Warbler itself is a genuine conservation story — once nearly extinct in Britain after the catastrophic winter of 1962–63 reduced the population to an estimated 10 breeding pairs, the species has since recovered to several thousand, largely through heathland management.
