| Obverse description | Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III occupies the central field, rendered in a contemporary portrait style by engraver Glyn Davies. The king is depicted with short hair and without regalia, in keeping with modern British Commonwealth coinage conventions. The circular legend reads CHARLES III • BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY around the upper periphery, with the date 2023 displayed at the base, flanked by decorative stops. The initials GD, referencing the engraver, appear discreetly on the portrait truncation. The frosted finish of the Brilliant Uncirculated strike imparts a strong contrast between the raised design elements and the polished field. |
